Like many founders, I started with high hopes. I believed that outsourcing app development would fast-track my success. I invested serious money, tens of thousands of dollars working with a third-party app development team. And then...
The First Trough of Despair
Despite the investment and a very detailed specification, the 'app' I received, didn't work.
It looked like the app I had designed, but under the surface, it was buggy, unstable, and missing crucial features. Fixes became a money pit. I felt stuck because fixes weren't coming fast enough, and lacked quality.
I had source code but having spent so much, I couldn't afford to find any other developers to take it over.

It seemed like the solution: faster, cheaper, and I would be in control. The basics were very straightforward, but my app needed advanced no-code skills, and it was a steep learning curve. Just when I thought I had it 'licked', I experienced platform crashes that affected my app.
I tried a simpler app, with less screens, less 'logic', less overall. And platform crashes occurred again as the app neared completion.
Third app - same result. The app would be almost complete when it would crash and burn horribly with platform issues.
